{"id":937,"date":"2010-10-05T17:42:04","date_gmt":"2010-10-05T07:42:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.khanfactor.com\/blog\/?p=937"},"modified":"2016-07-26T18:38:22","modified_gmt":"2016-07-26T08:38:22","slug":"all-terrorists-are-muslims%e2%80%a6except-the-94-that-aren%e2%80%99t","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.khanfactor.com\/blog\/?p=937","title":{"rendered":"All Terrorists are Muslims Except the 94% that Aren&#8217;t"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>CNN recently published an article entitled <a href=\"http:\/\/edition.cnn.com\/2010\/US\/01\/06\/muslim.radicalization.study\/\">Study: Threat of Muslim-American terrorism in U.S. exaggerated<\/a>;  according to a study released by Duke University and the University of  North Carolina at Chapel Hill, \u201cthe terrorist threat posed by  radicalized Muslim-Americans has been exaggerated.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Yet, Americans continue to live in mortal fear of radical Islam, a  fear propagated and inflamed by right wing Islamophobes.\u00a0 If one follows  the cable news networks, it seems as if all terrorists are Muslims.\u00a0 It  has even become axiomatic in some circles to chant: \u201cNot all Muslims  are terrorists, but nearly all terrorists are Muslims.\u201d Muslims and  their \u201cleftist dhimmi allies\u201d respond feebly, mentioning Waco as the one  counter example, unwittingly affirming the belief that \u201cnearly all  terrorists are Muslims.\u201d<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>But perception is not reality.\u00a0 The data simply does not support such  a hasty conclusion.\u00a0 On the FBI\u2019s official website, there exists a  chronological list of all terrorist attacks committed on U.S. soil from  the year 1980 all the way to 2005.\u00a0 That list can be accessed <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fbi.gov\/publications\/terror\/terrorism2002_2005.htm\">here<\/a> (scroll down all the way to the bottom).<\/p>\n<dt><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.loonwatch.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/01\/piechart2-1024x1024.jpg?resize=491%2C491\" class=\"size-large wp-image-3905\" alt=\"Terrorist Attacks on U.S. Soil by Group, From 1980 to 2005, According to FBI Database\" width=\"491\" height=\"491\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/dt>\n<p><strong>Terrorist Attacks on U.S. Soil by Group, From 1980 to 2005, According to FBI Database<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>According to this data, there were more Jewish acts of terrorism  within the United States than Islamic (7% vs 6%).\u00a0 These radical Jews  committed acts of terrorism in the name of their religion.\u00a0 These were  not terrorists who happened to be Jews; rather, they were extremist Jews  who committed acts of terrorism based on their religious passions, just  like Al-Qaeda and company.<\/p>\n<p>Yet notice the disparity in media coverage between the two.\u00a0 It would  indeed be very interesting to construct a corresponding pie chart that  depicted the level of media coverage of each group.\u00a0 The reason that  Muslim apologists and their \u201cleftist dhimmi allies\u201d cannot recall  another non-Islamic act of terrorism other than Waco is due to the fact  that the media gives menial (if any) coverage to such events.\u00a0 If a  terrorist attack does not fit the \u201cIslam is the perennial and  existential threat of our times\u201d narrative, it is simply not paid much  attention to, which in a circuitous manner reinforces and \u201cproves\u201d the  preconceived narrative.\u00a0 It is to such an extent that the average  American cannot remember any Jewish or Latino terrorist; why should he  when he has never even heard of the Jewish Defense League or the  Ejercito Popular Boricua Macheteros?\u00a0 Surely what he does not know does  not exist!<\/p>\n<p>The Islamophobes claim that Islam is intrinsically a terrorist  religion.\u00a0 The proof?\u00a0 Well, just about every terrorist attack is  Islamic, they retort.\u00a0 Unfortunately for them, that\u2019s not quite true.\u00a0  More like six percent.\u00a0 Using their defunct logic, these right wingers  ought now to conclude that nearly all acts of terrorism are committed by  Latinos (or Jews).\u00a0 Let them dare say it\u2026they couldn\u2019t; it would be  political and social suicide to say such a thing.
